two Philippine women, whose identities were withheld, are awaiting execution in Saudi Arabia after they were convicted of murder, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. DFA Undersecretary Esteban Conejos stressed that the death sentence is final and executory. The two women, who are currently jailed in Riyadh, were found guilty of murder and robbery in Riyadh. Conejos said their conviction in the Grand Shariah Court was sustained by the Court of Appeals and affirmed in the Supreme Judicial Council. A royal decree of execution has been issued.
