Lagos states Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, worried by the incessant cultist clashes in the state's tertiary institutions, particularly Lagos State University, disclosed the introduction of capital punishment to any student cultist apprehended. Governor Tinubu was reported as saying that his administration was determined to eliminate all cult students in the state institutions. "We cannot allow our institutions to be turned into battle field where blood flow freely. We are determined henceforth to eliminate all cult students form our institutions. Any student caught will be charged for capital punishment," he said.
