Le Duc Thi, 32, was sentenced to death after being found guilty by a court in Vietnam's central province of Binh Dinh of beating to death his 73-year-old great-aunt on March 6, 2004 after she refused to lend him money. Thi repeatedly smashed her head on the floor, and then wrapped her dead body in cloth and set fire to her.
