Kwabena Kamkam, the Ghanaian on death row in Libya, says he faces imminent danger from fellow inmates.
He has received threats regarding why he has not been killed even though his execution date has elapsed. Kamkam, also know in Libya as Macmoud Mustaffah Abukakar, was facing a death sentence having been convicted of the murder of another Ghanaian, Isaac Oppong in Libya.
Though in February the Foreign Affairs Ministry finalised the documents needed to secure a pardon for the convict after the family of the victim agreed to grant him clemency, Kamkam says he is yet to be pardoned. Kamkam is appealing to the government to facilitate his release from Bengazi to Tripoli to ensure he escapes bodily harm from his inmates.
