Liu Chung Yung, 40, from Nanchuan District in Chongqing Municipality, was executed for crimes including organising a crime syndicate, murder and assault. On October 21, 2009, the Third Intermediate People’s Court sentenced him to death, deprived him of political rights for life and fined him five hundred thousand yuan. On April 18, 2010, the Chongqing Municipal Higher People’s Court upheld the decision.
