a 29 year old odd-job labourer was sentenced to death for trafficking in cannabis at a house near in Kuantan, Malaysia, nine years ago. Saiful Nizam Yusof, of Beserah, was found guilty of having trafficked in 2,854gm of cannabis at house Lot 1513, KM29, Kampung Pantai Jaya, Gebeng, at 11pm on Dec 31, 1999. High Court judge Mohd Apandi Ali also found him guilty of trafficking 828.5gm of cannabis at a chicken coop behind the house at the same place and time. The accused was later taken to the Kajang Prison where he awaits an appeal against his sentencing.
