MALAYSIA; DEATH SENTENCE FOR THREE FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

three men were sentenced to death by the Malaysian High Court for trafficking in 45.49kg of cannabis on November 1, 2002. Car washer P. Samugem, 32, ship worker V. Kumaran and unemployed S. Prakash, 36, were sentenced by judge Datuk Azahar Mohamed. Azahar found that Samugem and Prakash negotiated the price of the cannabis with an undercover police personnel at the scene, and Kumaran was the driver.
