the Malaysian Federal Court acquitted postman Mohd Shamshir Md Rasid due to a serious misdirection by a trial judge over the admissibility of a cautioned statement. Shamshir, 37, was sentenced to death by the Seremban High Court on Feb 10, 2004, for trafficking 366.1g of cannabis in Negri Sembilan, on March 11, 2000.
