the Malaysian Federal Court’s three-man bench led by Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Justice Richard Malanjum unanimously dismissed Ahmad Najib Aris’s appeal against his death for raping and murdering Canny Ong Lay Kian on June 14, 2003. On February 23, 2005, the Shah Alam High Court sentenced Najib to death, the decision being affirmed in March 2007 and March 2009.
