MALAYSIA: THAI WOMAN ESCAPES THE GALLOWS

fruit seller, Roseedah Che Ubong, 41, a Thai national, had her drug trafficking conviction and death sentence set aside by Justice Datin Paduka Zaleha Zahari of the Malaysian Court of Appeal due to a miscarriage of justice. She was sentenced by Kota Bahru High Court judge Datuk Muhammad Ideres Muhammad Rapee for trafficking in 1,014 grammes of cannabis in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, on February 3, 2004.
