MALAYSIA. UMNO DELEGATE CALLS FOR DEATH SENTENCE ON

a Kedah Umno delegate proposed that Malays who wanted to abandon Islam must obtain the consent from the Sultan to do so or face death.
"If His Majesty says okay, it's okay. If His Majesty says not okay and he still wants to renounce Islam, execute him," said Senator Tajul Urus Mohd Zain when debating the motion of thanks for the president's address at the Umno 2006 Umno General Assembly.
