MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING DAUGHTERS

a judge sentenced Mohammad Mukhtar to death for stabbing his two daughters to death while they were asleep. He was also sentenced to Rs 300,000 fine on each count. According to the prosecution, Mukhtar killed them on July 28, 2004 as he wanted a son, and had an argument with his wife on the subject. Mukhtar argued he had been receiving threats from unidentified people, had desired a son and had to pay back a huge loan. He said he slaughtered his daughters while suffering from depression.
