MPs in Bahrain demanded the death penalty for four men who allegedly kidnapped a Bahraini teenager and gang raped him in a seven-hour ordeal. The demand was made by two parliamentary blocs that together constitute more than half of parliament. Al Asala and Al Wefaq are demanding the maximum penalty if the suspects are found guilty, describing the crime as a heinous attack worthy of the ultimate punishment. MPs claim the suspects are of Bahraini passport holders of Yemeni and Sudanese origin. "The death penalty is not even as severe as the act committed, but I am not a judge to determine what punishment to give. I hope that the culprits get hanged."
