RIGHTS BODY URGES BAHRAIN TO ABOLISH DEATH PENALTY

Bahrain was urged to abolish death penalty from its panel code law after the activation of the punishment few years ago. The Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society (BHRW) marked the World Day Against Death Penalty with calling Bahraini civil society to intensify efforts to pressure the government to eliminate the punishment. "We consider that the death penalty is a flagrant violation of the human right to life as it comes at the top of the Penal Cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, which did not demonstrate that it is a deterrent than other penalties assessed in the Penal Code for committing the crime," member in the society, Faisal Fulad, told Khaleej Times. "The harm to life or the body is forbidden and is considered a criminal offence and harm civilians. The death penalty does not solve the security problems and criminal, representing the run forward in an effort to resolve the problem. And that the duty to the Bahrain to protect the rights and fundamental freedoms, in the introduction, the right to life, the right to a fair trial and that defendants should be tried before the courts," he demanded.
