Mua Wongsorn, 60, and Yai Busanaree, 48, were sentenced to death after being convicted of trafficking in 80,000 speed pills in Chiang Rai in 1999. The two, who are a married couple, did not have their sentences commuted as Yai had denied all the charges despite sufficient evidence which forced her husband to confess.
