Muhammad Jaghamin was hanged at dawn in the Swaqa prison after a 10-month trial at the State Security Court. He was convicted of the killing of 14 people in what was known to the public as the Rabia and Shemeisani murders. According to some officials who attended the highly-secured execution, minutes before his execution Gaghamin refused to read verses of the Koran, which is a routine procedure that takes place before execution.
