The Governor said the smooth implementation of the anti-kidnapping law solely rests with the judiciary. "With the signing of this anti-kidnapping bill into law… we have criminalised hostage taking, terrorism and illegal use of explosive," Akpabio emphasised. According to the Governor, "Once the judiciary pronounces such person guilty, I will personally sign the death warrant for him to be executed. I am very sure the law court will rise to the occasion.”
