the Nigerian Supreme Court fixed July 8, 2011, to rule on the appeal of popular Hausa film actress, Ms Rabi Ismail, who is challenging the judgment of the Court of Appeal Kano Division that sentenced her to death by hanging. The Appeal court upheld the Federal High Court sitting in Kano's death sentence for drugging and drowning Auwalu Ibrahim on or about December 25, 2002, in a dam in Kano State in order to acquire his property.
