in two separate judgements, the Nigerian Supreme Court upheld the death sentences of Segun Ogunsanya and Joseph Awoshina. Ogunsanya was accused of robbing Alhaji Oshikoya Yinka of N51,000 at gunpoint on July 14, 2001, at Igoya Imowo, near Ijebu- Ode, Ogun State. He was sentenced to death by the Ijebu-Ode Judicial Division of the High Court. Joseph Amoshima allegedly robbed and murdered Alhaji Zakari Mohammed of his video-playing machine and some money on April 6, 2006, in his house at Kasuwan Dutse area of Suleja, Niger State.
