Nine people convicted of violent robberies, in four of which their victims died, were executed in Beijing, media said. One, Tian Yungang, had killed a man who was reading in a park on the outskirts of Beijing before making off with the victim's bicycle, briefcase and eight yuan (HK$7.50).
