On August 27, an Italian delegation composed of the Hon. Marco Taradash, Hon. Enzo Fragalà and Alessandra Filograno from Hands off Cain went to Pakistan to discuss a possible agreement for the exchange of convicted nationals. Four Italian nationals, including a woman, were in Pakistani prisons on drug-related charges, and about 14 Pakistanis are serving sentences in Italy for different crimes. The delegation also urged the Pakistani authorities to abolish the death penalty for juveniles. The delegates met with Law Minister Khalid Anwer, former Law Minister Iqbal Haider, Opposition Leader at the Senate Aitizaz Ahsan, and HRCP Chairwoman Asma Jehangir, also visiting jails in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
