On July 21, the Yinchuan Intermediate People's Court found that Xie Jianwen, Yang Jie, Yang Jun, and Zhang Yanbin stole 120 kg. of dynamite and 940 detonators from a storehouse at the Lingxin Coal Mine early on the morning of March 31 and, on the morning of April 20, buried the dynamite on a remote stretch of road in Yinchuan. Theywere given death sentences at a public trial. Their sentences were carried out immediately after the trial.
