On November 23, the Tehran morning newspapers, including Sobhe Emrooz, published a statement by the presiding judge of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran Gholamhossein Rahbarpoor, in which he announced that 3 of the students arrested during the demonstrations at Tehran University last June had been given the death sentence. The same day the newspaper Payame Azadi reported that an unspecified number of students arrested at the University were being held in Evin prison, and asked what had become of those detainees who had been wounded in the shooting.
