On November 26, the Lebanese army detained two Fatah officials at the entrance to the Rashidiyah Camp near Tyre in South Lebanon. They are Khalid al-Shayib, the Fatah secretary in Sidon, and Abu Khalid al-Arif, a Fatah militia official. It was also learned that the Lebanese judiciary had handed down a death sentence against Khalid al-Shayib and a 15-year prison term against Abu Khalid al-Arif after they had been charged with committing murders and carrying out bombings in South Lebanon.
