PAKISTAN: BLASPHEMY ACCUSED GETS DEATH SENTENCE

in Jhelum, Pakistan, Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Mehmood Zargham sentenced Malik Ashraf from Pind Dadan Khan to death and fined him Rs110,000 for blasphemy committed three months ago. According to the prosecution, Malik Ashraf repeatedly uttered derogatory remarks against revered personalities.
Rallies were taken out, demanding death for the culprit. A case was registered against the accused under sections 295-C and 298 of the PPC.
