a Pakistani writer, author of a book considered blasphemous due to its affirmation that several key figures in the Koran, the four Imams, were Jewish, and that the stoning to death of an adulteress is not a punishment prescribed by the Koran, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Karachi.
Yunus Shaik, 40, had been condemned some months previously for having written a book “The Religious Satanic”.  “The court sentenced him to life imprisonment for having written that the four Imams were Jews”, said prosecutor Naimal Ali Randawa, following the sentence.
Shaik was also sentenced to death for having contested the stoning to death of adulteresses.
