the Sindh High Court (SHC) in Pakistan set aside the death sentences awarded to three accused in the kidnapping of an Aligarh University student in 2005. An appellate bench comprising Justice Qaiser Iqbal and Justice Safdar Ali Bhutto upheld the appeals by Syed Rizwan Ahmed, Abdul Asif and Atif Khan. They were convicted of kidnapping Qazi Muneebul Haq for ransom and later murdering him. The case was remanded back to the trial court.”
