PAKISTAN: FOUR DEATH ROW PRISONERS HANGED

Four death row prisoners were hanged in the jails of Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Vehari. The dead bodies of the prisoners were handed to their families.

Four death row prisoners were hanged in the jails of Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Vehari. The dead bodies of the prisoners were handed to their families.
According to the details, Tanzeel Ahmad of Sheikhupura was hanged in Kot Lakhpat jail of Lahore. Muhammad Khalid was sent to the gallows in Faisalabad’s Central Jail. He had killed a rival in 1999 to avenge an old enmity.
On the other hand, Abdul Shakur was hanged till death in Bahawalpur’s Central Jail. Another prisoner Asif Achu, was also sent to the gallows in Vehari’s District Jail.
Since the de facto ban on capital punishment ended on 17 December 2014 until 10 September 2015, at least 236 people have been executed across the country.
