PAKISTAN: IHC COMMUTES DEATH SENTENCE OF A CONVICT INTO LIFE TERM

a divisional bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in Pakistan, comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Bilal Khan and Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan, commuted the death sentence of Abdul Aziz into life imprisonment. Aziz was found guilty of murdering Muhammad Ali on January 18, 1998 after an argument over the prices of plants. A trial court in Islamabad awarded him the death sentence.
