A court in Karachi on 27 August 2019 awarded death sentence to a man for killing his daughter for ‘honour’.
Khalid Ahmed was found guilty of killing his 16-year-old daughter over suspicions of having relations with a man within the remit of the Zaman Town police station.
Additional district and sessions judge Haleem Ahmed of the model criminal trial court (East) pronounced his verdict reserved after recording evidence and final arguments from both sides.
The judge noted that the prosecution successfully proved the charges against the accused and handed down death sentence to him.
The prosecution contended that the accused had also murdered his wife in Shikarpur 10 years ago.
A case was registered against him under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Zaman Town police station.
