Muhammad Ikhlaq, his father Muhammad Riaz, Muhammad Ashfaq, Muhammad Zulfiqar and Muhammad Hanif allegedly killed Tahir Mehmood on May 25, 2003, due to an old enmity. The court awarded the death sentence to Ikhlaq and acquitted his father. The other three are still at large.
