PAKISTANI SOLDIER SENTENCED TO DEATH OVER FATAL SHOOTING OF TEEN

a Pakistani court sentenced paramilitary soldier Shahid Zafar to death and fined him $2,300 for shooting unarmed teenager Sarfraz Shah in the southern port city of Karachi in June. Supreme Court’s chief justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, ordered the defendant be tried in an antiterrorism court. Shah's family maintain he had simply been walking in the park when the soldiers accosted him.
