Pakistan's highest religious court halted a death by stoning sentence for a woman convicted of adultery until an appeal is heard, news reports said.
Chief Justice Fazal Elahi of the Federal Sharia Court put off the execution of Zafran Bibi, who in April went to authorities to file a rape complaint against her brother-in-law, but instead was arrested for adultery.
