a Palestinian human rights group called on President Mahmoud Abbas not to endorse a military court's death sentence against three Gaza Strip residents. The Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) insisted that Abbas condemn the death sentence brought against three Palestinians from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza City, according to a statement sent to Ma'an. The ICHR "views with deep concern the death sentence entered by the special military court in Gaza City because it is a clear violation of the right to a just trial in specialised courts," the statement said. The group added that the sentence was "also a violation of the right to live guaranteed by all international laws and legislation."
