POLAND AGREES TO EU POLICY ON DEATH PENALTY

the Polish government decided to support the introduction of a European anti-death penalty day. The EU wanted Poland to be involved for many years, but former conservative Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski was pro-death penalty. Warsaw's decision promises a fresh attitude towards Europe by the new Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The prime minister made it clear during his inauguration that he wanted better relations with the rest of the EU. The EU will decide whether to join non-governmental organisations, who have used the 10th December as an anti-death penalty day for a number of years.
