Prison moved 10 of 12 youth offenders out of Death Row at the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) in Muntinlupa. The minors were transferred to the medium security compound at about 1 p.m., approximately three hours after prison officials received a copy of the Supreme Court resolution ordering them to take the youth offenders from Death Row. The other two inmates would be kept on Death Row until the NBP ascertained they were indeed minors when they committed their crimes. Sen. Francisco Pangilinan visited the NBP to check on the conditions of the minors who had been languishing on Death Row with hardened criminals pending the result of the Supreme Court's review of their cases. Whilst previously the prisoners were not allowed to leave their cells they would now have "free movement" inside the prison compound from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
