Prosecutors demanded the death penalty for Noboru Nakamura, 33, a former AUM Shinrikyo member who allegedly took part in the 1994 nerve-gas attack. Prosecutors also claimed that Nakamura had abducted the 68-year-old relative of an AUM follower in 1995 and conspired to kill a 27-year-old AUM member in 1994. Nakamura pleaded not guilty to all the charges during earlier hearings at the court.
