Reports claim that at least 13 people were sentenced to death in 1998 after all were convicted of premeditated murder. It has been asserted that in 1997, 30 executions were carried out and 55 death sentences were handed down. Furthermore, reports assert that all 38 people who were sentenced to death in 1996 were executed.
