the abolition of death penalty in Russia will help the extradition of criminals and terrorists, who are hiding abroad, Chairman of the Federation Council International Affairs Committee Mikhail Margelov said, referring to prospects for Russia’s ratification of the sixth protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights. Not a single country wants maximum severity of laws, because this is not a way to stop crime, Margelov said.
At the same time, “no one has a right to dictate will on Russia. This is our domestic task,” he added.
