Sabuj, 28, and Habib were sentenced to death in Bangladesh, the latter in absentia, after being convicted of shooting down a neighbour out of enmity at Azampur, Uttara. Five other accused were acquitted. According to the prosecution, Shahabuddin, a resident of Azampur, was sitting in a tea stall at about 8pm on July 29, 2002 when the accused gunned him down.
