SAUDI ARABIA: CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR BYNDOOR YOUTH

Abdul Majeed, 27, of Navunda, near Byndoor in India, was awarded capital punishment by a Saudi Arabian court for transporting narcotic drugs. Majeed was arrested on January 14, 2004, after a friend asked him to collect a bag from Hamza Abubakker at Dammam Airport. His family say he was made a scapegoat. The Shariat Court in Dammam sentenced him to eight years imprisonment and 500 lashes, however after four years the verdict was changed to death.
