Saudi Arabia executed a man convicted of killing his father. The official Saudi news agency said Anwar bin Mahmoud bin Laffi al-Shimari killed his father by striking his head with a piece of metal. Shimari was put to death in the province of Al-Jouf, some 1,200 km (750 miles) from the capital Riyadh.
