a Sudanese man was beheaded in public after being convicted of trying to smuggle hashish into Saudi Arabia, the Interior Ministry said. The ministry identified the man as Mohammed Ahmed Adam. No dates of his trial or arrest were provided. His execution in the western Red Sea coastal city of Jiddah brought the number of people beheaded in Saudi Arabia this year to 40.
