A Saudi court sentenced a Saudi citizen to death for helping al-Qaeda carry out terrorist attacks in the eastern region in 2004, AFP reported. The defendant was convicted of helping al-Qaeda carry out "a terrorist operation" in May 2004 targeting three different areas of al-Khobar by transporting elements and weapons, the official Saudi Press Agency said. Nine other defendants were sentenced to prison terms of between five and 33 years because of their roles in the attacks which killed 22 people.
