Senior Justice Anita Allen sentenced 35 year old Ian Knowles to death for murdering an Abaco man, whose body was dumped in a blue hole in 2004. Jermaine Thompson went missing sometime on April 3, 2004, and his body was discovered on April 10, 2004 at Merlin’s Lair, a blue hole in Abaco. Thompson’s body was found in an advanced state of decomposition, wrapped in a sheet, secured by duct tape and weighed by heavy silver chains with padlocks and tied with rope to a concrete block. It was later determined that Thompson died of a stab injury to the lung and multiple stab wounds about the body. Justice Allen said "the motive for the murder was, in my view, revenge because the deceased dared to have a relationship with the convict’s ex girlfriend."
