Seven prisoners on death row in Vietnam had their sentences commuted to life imprisonment by President Tran Duc Luong. Five of those who benefited from the act of clemency, including two women, were drug traffickers, while the other two men were condemned to death for murder, an official from the President's Office said. No reason was given for the commutations.
