a woman identified as 'MK' had her March 2005 death sentenced rejected by the Appeals Court in Sierra Leone. MK had spent six years on death row for poisoning her baby step-daughter. She thumb-printed a confession in which she said she had given battery fluid to the child. MK says her husband had told her not to deny what was put to her by the police. Her appeal was rejected by the Court of Appeal in 2008 on a technicality, but in 2010 agreed to hear her case due to the human rights issues it raised.
