Singapore's High Court sentenced two brothers to death for murdering an elderly woman during a robbery, a court official and news reports said. Ismil Kadar, 40, and Muhammad Kadar, 33, both Singaporeans, were given the mandatory death sentence for the May 2005 murder of the 69-year-old woman even though a trial failed to established who slashed and stabbed her 110 times. Justice Woo Bih Li said he could not determine who was the assailant but under the law both men were liable for murder.
