Ong Pang Siew, 46, was found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Ong Pan Hui on 20 October 2007 in Marsiling and was sentenced to death in Singapore. The murder took place at the flat where Ong used to live with his ex-wife and stepdaughter. Defence lawyers argued that Ong was suffering from depression when he committed the murder, which affected his judgement. The prosecution argued that Ong murdered the teen as an act of revenge, as Ong was having a fight over the phone with Xiu before the murder.
