six people involved in five separate murder incidents were sentenced to death in Meru, Kenya, by Lady Justice Ruth Sitati. Agnes Kasyoka Ibrahim was convicted of poisoning her brother-in-law's family of three, leading to a 7 year old boy's death. Witnesses said Kasyoka was seen going to Mrs Lucy Kawira Bundi's house carrying a flour-like substance, which she emptied in a thermos containing tea. The incident took place in Mikinduri village Tigania District on April 2, 2003. Mrs Bundi later served the poisoned tea to her family. Brothers Jonah Muthee and Shadrack Mutira stabbed a radio repairer as they robbed him of a Walkman. The attack was witnessed by Mr Jason Thuranira in a hotel at Nchiru market, Tigania, in September 2003. Others convicted were Bernard Kinoti, who killed his neighbour, Mr Pancras Mutua, over water in Chugu Location, Imenti North District and Pamela Karimi who lured her husband, Mr Elias Mutiria, to his death in Kaare village, Meru South District. Mr Mutiria's mutilated body was found in a bush moments after the couple had left their home on a bicycle. Patrick Mutuma, 19, who beheaded Mr Anibar M'Mukira five years ago and threw the head in a pit latrine will also hang. The two had a long-standing dispute.
